Product safety and responsible persons (GPSR)

Since 13 December 2024 the EU General Product Safety Regulation (EU) 2023/988 (GPSR) applies. We sell only products that meet EU requirements, and for each we state the manufacturer and, where the manufacturer is based outside the EU, the responsible person in the EU. Here is how it works and what to do if you suspect a product is unsafe.

1. Manufacturer and responsible person details

1. On every product page, in the Safety & manufacturer section, we state: the manufacturer's trade name and address, e-mail or web contact, for manufacturers outside the EU also the details of the responsible person established in the EU (importer, authorised representative or fulfilment service provider – Article 4 of Regulation (EU) 2019/1020), product identification (type, batch or serial number where available) and safety information and warnings.
2. The same details appear on the product, its packaging or the enclosed documentation. If details are temporarily missing for a product (e.g. a new supplier), we add them before it goes on sale; we don't sell products without them.

2. Specific rules by product type

Cosmetic products

Governed by Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009. Every product has a responsible person in the EU (stated on the packaging), is notified in the CPNP portal and has a safety report. On the packaging you find the ingredients list (INCI), the best-before date or the open-jar symbol (PAO – period after opening), batch number, product function and warnings. Electrical devices (hair dryers, curlers, straighteners, massage and beauty devices)

They carry the CE mark and comply with the Low Voltage (2014/35/EU), EMC (2014/30/EU) and RoHS directives. Instructions in the local language are enclosed. Use devices as instructed, don't use them near water unless designed for it, and don't leave them on unattended. Electrical waste doesn't belong in household waste – you can hand a device in free of charge at a collection point or return it to us when buying a new one (one-for-one).

Jewellery

Complies with REACH limits for nickel (release max. 0.5 µg/cm²/week), cadmium and lead. We state the material (e.g. 316L surgical steel, 925 silver, gold plating) and whether it is suitable for sensitive skin.

Textiles and clothing (including Tamitos)

Fibre composition labelling under Regulation (EU) No 1007/2011 and care symbols are on the sewn-in label and in the product description. Dyes and chemicals comply with REACH (e.g. ban on azo dyes).

Bags and accessories

We state the material (genuine leather, PU, textile) and the country of origin where known.

Toys and children's products

Where we offer products intended for children under 14, they comply with Directive 2009/48/EC on toy safety, carry the CE mark and age warnings.

3. Recalls and safety notices

1. If we learn that a sold product is dangerous (from the manufacturer, a supervisory authority, the Safety Gate/RAPEX system or customers), we immediately withdraw it from sale and directly contact every customer who bought it from us – by e-mail, and SMS where available – with information about the risk, what to do and an offer of remedy (repair, replacement or refund, at the customer's choice).
2. We also publish recall information on this page and in the customer's account next to the order.
3. For this purpose we keep records of sold products and their buyers for at least 5 years from sale (Article 22 GPSR).

4. How to report a safety problem

If a product seems dangerous (injury, burn, allergic reaction, electrical short, loose small parts), stop using it and write to info@beautimess.sk or call +421 908 633 813 (Mon–Fri 9:00–15:30). State the product name, order number, batch (if on the packaging), a description of the incident and attach photos. We log the report, contact you within 2 working days and, where required by law, notify the manufacturer and the supervisory authority via the Safety Business Gateway. Undesirable effects of cosmetics can also be reported directly to the Public Health Authority of the Slovak Republic.
